POWER

Sometimes called ‘sphere’ or ‘strength’. Measured in diopters, it is always preceded by a + (plus) or a – (minus) and goes up in 0.25 increments.

BC

The shape of the back surface of the lens, which determines how the lens fits. It is usually an 8.x or 9.x number.

DIA

Refers to the width across the lens in millimeters. Most brands come in one size. It is usually a 14.x number, but can range from 13.x to 15.x.

CYL

Refers to the amount of extra power needed to correct the astigmatism. It will always appear as – (minus) number.

AXIS

Indicates the placement of the extra power in a toric lens. This oval band could run up and down, right to left, or at any angle in between; with an axis between 0 and 180 degrees.

Not going to repurchase this
The embossing letter on the lens is causing great discomfort to my eyes. I can actually feel it every time I blink as if something is stuck onto my eyeballs.
